My Guys

This weekend I didn’t cook anything.  Nothing.  Zero.

Well, that’s sort of a lie.  I did make something amazing out of Jenny’s amazing book for our Friday night dinner.  Details on that soon.

But other than that I didn’t cook anything.  We took this weekend and we spent time together as a family.  We played and napped and tried our hardest to soothe our sweet teething baby.  We filmed a video in our back yard that I’m going to show you later this week.  We tried new restaurants, shared meals, went to church, had epiphanies, went hiking.

My head was filled to the brim with ideas, thoughts, feelings, recipes.  Things I want to do and say and be and share.  Now isn’t the time though, and (since, you know, I didn’t cook) I don’t really have any food to share just yet.  But I want to share this, my favorite image from the weekend (and possibly of all time) with y’all.

My guys.  They’re my world.  I love them more than I could ever truly express, and I know without a shadow of a doubt that I am blessed beyond belief.  Seeing them together makes my heart leap out of sheer gratitude, and having them both smiling at the same time.  Complete combustion.

And I just had to share.  Happy Monday!

I love how much you love your guys! I love my husband and son so much, too! Sorry I’ve been MIA this week. Hurricane Sandy gave my town 14 inches of rain and 3 days of power outages. We are so blessed compared to New Jersey and New York, though. My thoughts and prayers are with the families in those devastated areas.

    Hi there!
Just found your blog through another site (Joy the Baker), and it is so darn cute! My head is constantly swirling with recipes too, but this Sunday, I did something similar and just relaxed all morning (and OK, I made a casserole for dinner, but that was so easy it doesn’t count, lol). We went out for a big, fat brunch, then came home and napped. What a wonderful way to spend a day! Glad you enjoyed yours. And yes, that pic is adorable!!
