Kauai: Day 1

Hey y’all!  So yes…turns out that time out here is rather different than it is on the mainland.  Time different meaning we’re about 3-6 hours (depending on where YOU are) behind everyone else!  So those posts I was hoping to get up this afternoon?  Well, that’s past most peoples’ bedtimes.  Heck, I know it’s past MY normal one!

Today was a lot of fun…we mainly drove from Po’ipu to the northern side of the island and just explored all day.  Videos will be a’coming soon, but let’s just say that my dorkiness shone brightly like a beacon in the night for most of the day.

You’ll understand soon 😉

But for now here are some photos of the day!

The eucolyptus tunnel on the way out of our "neighborhood"

First waterfall siting of the trip.

Beer makes it better!

Buffalo burger for me!

Philly cheesesteak for Nate

If there are 6 warning signs you know it could be dangerous...

Make that 7 warning signs...

The Queen's Bath, scariest place on Earth, in Princeville.

Dork alert: intrigued by an avocado the size of my head. Is anyone else imagining the absurd amount of guac you could make with this thing?

I heart water!

Trip goal #1: eat my weight in pineapple!

Considering buying another suitcase to take 20 of these home. I think I've found my calling...

I just adore all the colors here!

Woohoo!  Congrats to y’all…you made it to Friday!  Hope it’s a good one 😉

that avocado is awesome!! my mom’s friend came to visit us this past summer and she’s from nicaragua. she said she’s used to giant avocados and the U.S. seems to have the tiniest ones ever! 🙁

All of the pics are gorgeous. I too would eat my weight in Pineapples…love them! I thought the avacado was a coconut at first glance.

I would so love to go to Hawaii! And that is one huge avocado. I didn’t even think it was an avocado when I saw it.

And I would have been equally as excited about the huge avocado. It’s like finding gold.
