TGIF!!!! So cheesy, but so true 🙂
First off, I wanted to talk about something a lot of you have asked me about: my camera and equipment. As some of you might know, my husband and I are photographers on the side. We shoot weddings, bridals, engagements, families, kids, corporate photography, nature, and really anything that moves. Or doesn’t move. We don’t discriminate. That being said, we shoot with a full line of Nikon equipment. I typically (as in 99% of the time) use the Nikon D200 camera body:

And a Nikon 50mm F1.8 prime lens:

I try to shoot everything in natural light if possible, but still choose to do some editing using Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop. Most of the time it’s increasing the light in an image and perfecting the white balance, then exporting to Photoshop to resize and do any sort of touch-ups. I’m so glad y’all enjoy the photos! It’s definitely a LOT of fun for me to take them 🙂
Lunch today was basically the exact same thing as yesterday, but with steak instead of chicken:
Oh, and I had to put it in the biggest bowl I could find of course 🙂 I also had a tortilla with pepperjack…a toaster-oven quesadilla, if you will:
The salad was amazing, and I really liked having that quesadilla on the side! On my lunch break I decided to try to jog (sorry LeeAnn!), but after 2 minutes I quit. My shins were starting to hurt and I realized that I’d rather completely have the OK from LeeAnn before pushing myself too hard. The rest of the hour I walked, and it felt incredible! It’s such a gorgeous time of year here in Boulder, and I was soaking it up!
Marriage Ref Friday Winner
Between comments and Twitter, today’s Marriage Ref was a tie! A lot of you said that you’d rather do your own laundry just in case there were things that require special instructions, and the other half said you should do all laundry together to save time and energy. I definitely think things should be washed together, but if it’s something special that could get ruined I do it separately! Then, in addition to the tie, there were 4 of you that said you both do laundry as a team…way to go! That’s what it’s all about, right? 😉 Thanks again for all of y’alls votes and support of Marriage Ref Friday, and as always if you have a debate that needs to be settled don’t hesitate to email me at heathersdish@gmail.com!
Tonight we’re going to eat pizza and do some pictures to prep for a gig we have coming up with the WillPower and Grace Summit in Denver. I love photography, but I’m more excited about the pizza 😉
I know I did this last time, but any big plans for the weekend? We’re throwing an Ocho de Mayo party tomorrow all day and I can’t wait! Then maybe a hike on Sunday? Fingers are crossed that the answer is yes! Y’all have a great one 🙂
Ocho de Mayo! I love belated holiday celebrations… on the same note, my roommate and friend and I were all in different places for Easter and one of them just got a huge box of Easter decorations and cake mixes and egg dyes (took 3 months for the box to get to Africa… belated much?!) so we are having “fake Easter” this weekend. 🙂
I have big plans (well, to me) tomorrow…my first AUTHENTIC Chinese dumpling restaurant in god knows how long! I missed them so much!
I’m a Canon fan…but then, I’ve never tried Nikon! How are they different/better?
While I don’t necessarily take offense to your comment about how “there were 4 of you that said you both do laundry as a team…way to go! That’s what it’s all about, right?” I think you might have missed the point that a few of us had to make.
A few of us admit to doing most or all of the laundry in our household because it was our responsibility. Taking on that job IS part of being a “Team.” He is busy earning money and doing other jobs that suit him, while I do laundry because it is something I am very good at.
Of course to each his own and every relationship is different. I just hoped that you understand that even if the laundry is MY job, it is still all part of the teamwork of marriage.
Hi Sarah,
I’m sorry that comment came off the way that it did. In no way did I mean to communicate that one person in a marriage doing the laundry makes them any less a part of a team than another couple doing laundry together. In fact, that’s the way it is at our house: I do the laundry and my husband helps in other areas. Everyone has different gifts that they bring to the table, and merging those gifts to help the other and the couple as a whole is most definitely teamwork!
Your pictures are crystal clear, love them!

Mmmmm-quesadillas!!!—We had sweet Italian sausage cooked in red wine with whole wheat pasta and a jar of sauce! Not healthy (the sausage) but really tasty!
