I don’t really do posts like this that often, probably because I’m so oblivious to most things that I use all the time in real life to even thing about it. It just seems natural to use these products, though, which is probably one of the best indicators that the item is AMAZING. Plus there’s a fantastic giveaway below – trust me, you don’t want to miss it! So here goes:
HooRag in Cocoa Beanz – I really have to be honest here: when the company emailed me to ask if I wanted to try one of their headbands (it’s actually so much more than a headband!) I was a little hesitant. Everything I saw when I looked them up was hunting related and it was usually a guy wearing it. However, instinct told me to go for it so I said that I would try one. You guys, it’s awesome! It’s basically a big long tube of super soft cloth that you can use for any number of headband, ponytail holders, balaclava (for winter sports), or even a scarf substitute. I wear mine all the time when I’m working out, cooking, cleaning, or just out in general (after I’ve washed it of course). Highly, highly recommend this one!
Vintage zippered pleated pouch + Vintage ruffled zipper clutch + awesome arm band from Sand & Starfish – I “met” Stephanie via blog a while back and instantly fell in love with her, her heart, her life, and her sassy clutches & necklaces. She was so sweet and sent me a birthday present with these amazing two clutches and arm band, and I honestly canNOT get enough. I use them when I’m just running to the store with Wes and don’t want to bring along the entire diaper bag (I know I’m just asking for a blowout, but whatever), or I put my wallet/phone/keys in them and put them in the diaper bag for larger outings when I want to keep all of my stuff together. They’re so cute, so well-made, and the arm band? Totally ups my fashion sense. So cute!
Wen Styling Creme – I’ve been meaning to do a whole post on hair stuff, but let’s be honest: I’m still clueless when it comes to hair things. I love my curly hair and embrace it, but there’s no fool-proof system that I use all the time. And sometimes it’s a good day if I’ve even had a chance to shower, let alone style my hair. A while back I ordered the Wen hair care system (because I’m obsessed with infomercials and just couldn’t say no any longer), and I have to say that I don’t really notice a huge difference in my hair other than it’s a little softer. It’s not a lot easier to tame or style, but the styling creme is pretty fantastic. It’s definitely the thing that really helps smooth my hair when it’s having an iffy day! So if you’re thinking about the Wen stuff – it’s definitely worth a shot, at the very least to get your hands on this stuff.
OPI Polish in Big Apple Red – I’m sure I’m just a tad late to the game on this one, but I just have to share. I’m not a big manicure gal – I use my hands waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much to pay money and then ruin them – but I love a good pedicure. I like having a bit of polish on my toes, and this color is my absolute favorite right now. It’s bright and bubbly and perfect for this time of year!
Special K Sweet & Salty popcorn chips – Another one that I was not overly excited to try that I’ve really fallen in love with. It’s no secret that I’m not a popcorn lover, so when I got the chance to try these I was sort of hesitant. BUT I LOVE THEM. They’re the perfect combo of salty & sweet & crunchy – I eat a serving after dinner for dessert and it completely nixes my sweets craving without being overly sweet. And when I want a little chocolate? Well, just a drizzle of some melted chocolate chips takes these up another notch. Honestly a great product – I was sent a few boxes to try for free (full disclosure), but I’ve already spent my own money on another 2 boxes at the store.
Which leads me to….
The Gains Project. This one is near and dear to my heart. Most of you know my past struggle with disordered eating and body image issues, and the Gains Project is an amazing way to help combat that same problem for other women. It’s hard to want to get healthy and not be bombarded with stuff in magazines that show images of models to “inspire;” however, I love that the Gains Project encourages women to focus on the positive aspects of what we can gain from losing weight (if that’s something that’s needed). I’ve been impressed with the commercials that I’ve seen thus far, and I have to admit that there’s one that will be released soon that is incredible.
What the Gains Project is:
- The Gains Project is rooted in the findings of Special K’s recent study that shows that positive attitudes play a role in weight management success.
- 9 out of 10 women who think positively about weight management reported either losing weight or maintaining their weight in the past year, compared to only about half of women with a negative approach.
- They’re asking women to share their inspiring gains throughout December, leading up to January 2, or Special K Gain Day. This day is dedicated to celebrating all there is to gain when you move toward health – and then commit to achieving it.
Please note that I’m not saying everyone needs to think about losing weight with the upcoming new year. What I am saying is that we should all try to focus on being the healthiest we can be – in body, mind, attitude, and spirit – and the Gains Project can help focus on those positives.
In that light, Special K has been gracious enough to offer one reader the chance to win a fun box full of Special K goodies including cereal, snacks and bars, AND a pair of Special K yoga pants! Details below:
- Contest is open to US residents only;
- Giveaway will end at midnight CST on Friday, December 28;
- Winner will be contacted via email.
To enter, just leave a comment below letting me know what you’re hoping to gain in the new year! And I would HIGHLY HIGHLY encourage you to do the same on the actual Gains Project site!
