About a year ago a good friend told me about Yes, I Want Cake and y’all, I kid you not, I have been obsessed ever since. See, this was back when I was living outside of Denver, and Katie did too! I was so excited that there was another momma in the area and immediately staked a claim on her daughter to be my daughter-in-law someday.
Yes, I did. I’m not ashamed.
The more I read Katie’s blog the more I completely fell in love with her beautiful spirit, her beautiful daughter, and the recipes that she posts. Katie’s the kind of blogger that I aspire to be like – raw and open, witty, smart, and when she talks about her family I just feel the love flowing out of the computer screen and into my room. I want to be that for others too – someone who shares her life in such a way that inspiration to love others well just completely envelopes the heart. She’s sincere and a complete sweetheart, plus she posts videos of her sweet daughter talking that almost make me puddle from laughter.
And the recipes? OH THE RECIPES! Just this week I pinned her Almond Butter Saltine Chocolate Bites, Best Brussels Sprouts and Walnut Mascarpone Muffins, and I am pretty sure I’m going to make a whole Pinterest board dedicated to Katie’s kitchen. I love that her recipes are a perfect blend of healthy and decadent, and that she loves fitness as much as I do. When I met her at the Blend Retreat in Boulder last year she was every bit the wonderful person I imagined that she would be, and even more so. Katie, I’m so thankful for you, your friendship, your blendship (haha), and your blog!
