I have to admit, it’s always hard for me to pick a blog to write about each week; every blog I read I do so because I love the content – whether it’s a fabulous recipe, a fun outfit, or something that just speaks to my heart.
If you guys haven’t read Naptime Diaries, you should know that I do so because Jessi is one of the most beautifully honest and well-written women I’ve ever come across in this online world. I started reading her blog last summer, smack dab in the middle of being a new mom and preparing to move our family across the country. After another amazing friend‘s suggestion, I started reading Jessi’s e-book – Be Quiet and Say Something – as I was also really unsure of what the heck I was doing with my blog. Reading that book just encouraged my socks off, and from that moment on I was hooked. Jessi has been an amazing inspiration for me in writing, blogging, motherhood, and as a daughter of Christ. She helped me see that my story has a purpose, even if it doesn’t look like everyone else. My story is being written perfectly by God, and I’m OK with going along for the ride.
Besides the fact that Jessi’s blog is (in my opinion) what every blog should be like, she and her husband have an amazing print shop dedicated to getting Scripture on the walls of our homes. Over the past year I’ve gone back and forth over getting some of the prints, mainly because of tight budgets and being totally indecisive, but this past week I made my first order and will see them in the mail any day now. Y’all, I can’t wait!
I’ll be honest here: there are days when I just have to click “read all” on my reader because life is hectic and busy and full. I’ll usually go back once it slows down a bit to catch up because I love reading what you guys write, but Jessi’s blog is one of the ones that I make sure I read every day. She’s honest and real, she’s encouraging, she’ll rebuke in the most loving way ever, and she brings God’s truth every single time. I always leave with something to chew on and work through in my life – whether it’s about how I feel in my new mom body, how I handle the pressures of working from home, how I live my life for God’s glory, or what I’m doing with my blog and my writing.
Jessi, I know we’ve never met but I appreciate your writing and your heart more than I could really ever say. Thank you for your words and your wisdom – God is using you in the most wonderful ways in this momma’s life!
