And now we’re working on the frenzy of unpacking and taking care of a baby. Which basically means we’re taking care of a baby and taking our time with the unpacking part 🙂 This is my view as of now:
So far in Little Rock I haven’t worn any makeup, I have about 10 cardboard cuts on my hands, have averaged about 4-5 hours of sleep a night and have spent more time making sure that Wes and the dogs aren’t freaking out than I have unpacking. It’s been crazy.
However, since we’ve been here we’ve met our amazing neighbors, spent lots of time exploring the area (it took me a full 22 years to finally understand the streets of my hometown which is a basic grid-system – this could take a while), made plans for where we’re going to hike and hang out, and laughed harder than I have in the past few weeks.
To say this is overwhelming is an understatement, but I know that this was a good move for our family. I can’t wait to share the house with you guys once we get it set up! And even though I’m pretty exhausted I also can’t wait to get back in the kitchen. Eating out is fun sometimes, but I’m finding that everything basically tastes the same now, no matter what restaurant we go to.
Now…let the journey begin!

This is totally, totally late, but I hope that y’all are settling into Little Rock nicely. I love Little Rock– that’s actually on our (very short) list of places that we’d potentially like to end up, if a job ever opened up at the university. Close to family, GREAT food and beautiful hiking– what more could you want?!? I know y’all will love it!

Congratulations on your move, Heather! The unpacking will happen over time, so don’t sweat that. Take care of your family and dogs and everything will fall into place eventually!

Yay for cheery curtains! I feel the same way about eating out a lot. Don’t worry, you will be unpacked before you know it.

Good luck!!! I know this feeling all too well, minus the whole baby thing which I’m sure intensifies the situation. Make sure to get some rest!
