When I heard that fellow blogger Susan was diagnosed with Lymphoma recently my heart dropped to the floor. I started crying and praying immediately for her, that she would make a full recovery, and that the treatments she is going through would not put her through hell the way that it has for many of the people in my life who have had to deal with cancer. To see someone so young and so healthy fall ill like that really struck a chord with me.
So when Janetha (who is awesome and has just about the biggest heart of anyone I’ve ever met) contacted me and a ton of other bloggers about pulling together for an auction for Susan I jumped right in. All of the proceeds from this bake sale will go directly to the cost of Susan’s treatments and other bills so that all she has to focus on is healing. When we miscarried in February of this year, the second worst part of the whole thing (besides losing the precious life that we loved so much) was the fact that we were hounded by bills from the doctor’s office, the hospital, the emergency room, the surgery center, the laboratory, and the anesthesiologist. If there’s any way to be able to prevent someone from having to go through that during a terrible time in their life, I’m all in!
I’ll be donating a batch of my Mexican Hot Chocolate Cookies as well as a basket of food photography props from Crate & Barrel (which, if you’re not a blogger, can still be used to eat things with!) during the auction which will be held on July 25th. Check out this link to learn all about it – and if you’re down with participating to help Susan that’s great too! All of the info can be found here.
One of the things I have always loved about the blogging community, no matter what the blog is about, is the ability to pull together and really support one another. I’ve never met Susan in real life, but her heart is so open and evident on her blog – there’s no way you couldn’t love her!
Thanks y’all!
Heather

So many things I want to say, but most of all just thank you. Not one of those flippant, off the cuff thank yous, but one that comes from the bottom of my heart xoxo
