Something to Think About

Hey everyone!  Happy Friday 🙂

I’m postponing Marriage Ref Friday this week and I don’t have any food shots just yet because, well, it’s going on midnight and I am ready for bed.  BUT, I just want to say that the WillPower & Grace Summit is going fabulously!  We were able to meet a TON of amazing women & men, hang with some old friends, and experience an incredible WillPower & Grace workout.

During the workout, Stacey said something that really stuck with me in where I’m at in my life right now;  she said, “Everything that’s happened to you in your life, and everything you’ve done, has brought up to this exact moment.  What are you going to do with it?” Such a simple statement and question, but it made me stop what I was doing and think for a second.  Isn’t it funny to think that those times that I played with Barbies, read The Babysitter’s Club, played volleyball, formed relationships, and tried every kind of career path EXCEPT for the one that I really wanted to do (writing)…all of those times have brought me to this very moment.  Now I have to figure out what to do with it!

Something that WillPower & Grace emphasizes is pushing past the pain (in a healthy way) with your willpower and with grace (hence the name), to show your body that you are in control and you can make the changes that need to happen.  And you know what?  That’s something I agree with.  You have to be uncomfortable to get past a plateau of any kind:  emotional, physical, mental.  You have to be uncomfortable to change!

What’s something uncomfortable that you’ve had to push past to change? In my Joyful Kitchen post from the other day, I mentioned how I was used to working out in a certain way and got in a rut.  To change that I had to STOP doing what I was doing and make a conscious effort to change.  It was very uncomfortable at first, but my body is what it is today because of that.  And thank goodness for change!

Yes!! You have to be uncomfortable to change! I love this so much. I’ve been putting myself way out of my comfort zone both physically and emotionally and it has done so much for me. One of my favorite quotes…”if you’re not standing on the edge, you’re taking up too much space.” Push the limits of your comfort zone and they expand!

Hi dear. Great message in your post and very inspiring. I need to push my body in new ways and I think the biggest struggles are pushing my mind away from a binge when that’s all I really want to do. Just gotta do it more often!

I totally agree with having to push past pain in order to make a change. God never told us that life would be easy. In fact, we suffer more for being a Christian. But in that suffering, change comes about and we develop into the person we were meant to be. Those pictures look awesome.

yes, so true. you can only grow (physically, mentally, spiritually)when you’re uncomfortable.
    That’s why they’re called growing pains! 😉

something i had to push past to change was my fear of fat.
Thank God i got over that about 8 years ago. it made me so sick and constipated, and finally my hubby convinced me to eat (healthy) fat. i started researching and learning healthy ways (instead of what the stupid media and susan powter told me).
Now i’m a fat-lover and never been fitter or healthier!!

Love this post H! It’s so true…progress doesn’t come easy and usually involves pain and maybe even some tears.
