I have a lot of good qualities, I swear.  I am compassionate, loving, and happy.  I only curse when it’s funny.  I have never said the F word (frankfurter?).  I try to treat people the way I’d like to be treated.

But one quality that’s beginning to stand out as a personal favorite is my laziness.  Yes, you read that right:  I like being lazy.  Here’s the thing you need to understand with the laziness-loving:  it applies to baking cookies.  That’s it and that’s all, it’s just for decoration.

If you haven’t seen that video you need to.

Moving right along, yesterday Maria posted a life-altering recipe for Peanut Butter Snickers Cookies and I nearly fell out of my desk chair.

Then I tweeted about my trip to the store to go get Snickers to make them and she warned me they were dangerous.  All I have to say is that homegirl was right…dangerously amazing!  I have to say, I’m truly shocked I haven’t consumed the entire pan.

So where does the laziness come in?  You see, I still have a mortal fear of baking cookies at high altitudes, plus it takes a lot of time I don’t have to make individual cookies and bake them in batches.  I have too many ridiculous YouTube videos to find and Glee episodes to watch, not to mention sleeping.

So here’s what I did:  I took Maria’s amazing recipe (amazing doesn’t really describe it – addictive?  crack-like?), used regular Snickers because I couldn’t find the peanut butter version, smashed it all into a greased 9×13 pan, and baked at 350 for approximately 27 minutes.  And then I took the middle piece.  Because that’s just how I roll!

I’m telling you – crack for cookie lovers.  At least it’s legal…unlike whistle tips.

I saw those! And Lori’s too, at RecipeGirl. Would love some, but I can already see that I’d eat the whole pan since my kids don’t like nuts.

These look so yummy! And I have to say (I know I’m commenting on the wrong post here, but oh well), I’m looking forward to reading your “meditations” on the Psalms as you read through them during Lent… if you decide to post any of them. I don’t practice Lent, but I am a believer in Jesus and the healing, transformational power of the Bible! 🙂

I adore a cookie bar b/c I too am lazy and don’t have time to make 6 batches of cookies! I cannot wait to try these and I’m glad you used the regular snickers bar b/c I have had the peanut butter snickers and it’s gross (maybe it’s good in a cookie bar) but alone it’s not very good.

If being a lazy baker means getting to eat that entire pan then that’s what I want to be!

Any kind of cookie/cookie bar like that is a weakness of mine. There’s just something about the dense, buttery, chewy deliciousness…

You are funny! I have the same lazy streak when it comes to baking cookies. Lots of times I squish the dough in the pan and go on to the rest of my long list of things to get done. 🙂
