Party Weekend

Hey guys!  Hope your weekend has been going really well…I know mine has!  We started off by going to a wine and cheese party at Kraig & Amanda’s house!

They had all kinds of delicious food and by the end of the night we had 10 different wines to try!  The way it worked was all of the bottles were covered, and there were voting sheets in front of each bottle.  You had a little taster and voted, and at the end of the night (or I should say at the end of the bottles!) all of the votes were counted and a winner was announced!  I’m pretty sure I had a little taste of everything 🙂

Mmmmmmmmm carbs…

That Gouda in the middle was my favorite cheese of the night!

These are sausage cheese balls, and they’re seriously the most easy recipe ever!  It’s a combo of breakfast sausage, cheddar cheese, Bisquick, and water.  Bake ’em off and they’ll be gone instantly!

Need I say more?

This herbed goat cheese was fantastic!

And some more photo love to my favorite cheese of the night 🙂

This brie was VERY mushroom-y…not my favorite, but the texture of brie really couldn’t be any better!

Must.stay.hydrated.

And just a couple shots of the wines…they all had to be from Australia and they all had to be under $20.  Otherwise it could be anything!!!

My first plate…plus a couple of sausage cheese balls 🙂

And my hot husband trying to hide from me…turns out 6’4″ of man is hard to hide behind a light fixture…

And sadly that’s where the photos end for the ENTIRE WEEKEND!  I accidentally left the camera on overnight and it completely ran the battery down 🙁  So quickly, here’s our Saturday:  woke up, ate 1.5 donuts, took the dogs on a 5 mile hike, bathed said dogs, got lunch at a local burrito place, hit up the grocery store for supplies for a murder mystery dinner, took a nap, got ready for said dinner (which, by the way, I’m so sad I don’t have photos from!  Nate and I were quite the couple…), went to the dinner and had a blast, came home and washed the hairspray, black mascara, and facial hair color out, went to bed.  This morning I got up and, with my camera battery fully charged, decided I felt like roasted broccoli for breakfast.  Well, the broccoli was bad, and so I sit here now with naught but some Diet Root Beer in my stomach 🙁

I think I’ll survive…there’s approximately 3 Starbucks stores on my way to church 🙂  I think I hear a spinach feta wrap calling my name…

Have you ever been to a murder mystery dinner?  Did you like it?  And more importantly, were YOU the killer?!  If you haven’t, what’s the best theme party you’ve ever been to? My character was Allison Williams, and ex-actress-turned-shop-owner who was trying to claim myself as the rightful heir to the fortune of the deceased.  I wasn’t the killer and ended up just as broke as I came in 🙂

The cheese and wine party looks like a lot of fun. How did it work? Did everyone bring their own or did the host provide everything? I’m getting married in 2 months and am so excited about having people over for cute little parties or just dinner and these seems like a fun idea!

Every couple or individual brought a bottle of wine and made sure it was covered when they got there, and the hosts provided the hors d’oeuvres! It was so fun 🙂

OMG, what a fun concept. I’ve never heard of such a dinner party. But honestly, I don’t care whether I’m the killer or the victim, I would be too concerned about all that amazing CHEESE and carbs!! Oh my Lordie!

Cheese, a favorite indulgence- a great idea for a simple and fun party.

As for murder mysteries, I was in on once, but I was the one that got murdered! I got to ‘come back’ as the twin sister and play along – another great idea for a fun evening.

That party looks so fun! I love the idea of having a bunch of different kinds of cheese with little labels so you know what’s what. Hope you’re enjoying your Sunday!

I’ve always wanted to go a ”Mystery Murder Dinner”, still hoping someone does one or I’ll have too. I love cheese and crackers.

What a fun weekend! My parents used to do murder mystery dinners, and we’ve been talking about it too…Sorry about the battery, I was once stuck out of town on a trip with dead batteries, since then I’ve made sure to have a spare battery at all times! Kinda expensive but worth it on vacation!
