First off, can you even stand how adorable that dude up there is?! He’s currently in the middle of the worst teething I’ve ever seen – upset tummy, runny nose, doesn’t want to eat anything but soft foods and purees. It’s so sad! Luckily he was the sweetest little model for these biscuits before all the tooth drama started, and I have to say that he LOVES getting to be the taste tester too!
I’ve loved getting to experiment with Gerber baby food with this project – there are so many ways that you can utilize baby food beyond just mixing it with formula or breast milk. It works great as a binder in things like meatballs or meatloaf, you can use it to thicken soups, you can bake with it – the options are limitless! I also like to use the purees in lieu of oils in some baking; it adds some fruit and veggie goodness to just about any baked good!
When I made these biscuits I originally was planning on making cookies, but then realized that big brother loves biscuits and so little brother might like some of his own too. Plus my little nugget loves anything that looks like a ball, and as soon as he got his hands on these he was trying to roll them on his tray. Kills me with cuteness!
We do most of our grocery shopping at Walmart, which means it’s easy to get my hands on plenty of Gerber products and play around with them in the kitchen. I know my little guy will enjoy just about anything, and I like knowing that I can give him great food without spending all of my time making it.
You can make these biscuits with any fruit puree you want, I just like the peaches because they’re naturally sweet and flavorful. Another great option would be apples with a dash of cinnamon, or sweet potatoes and a touch of nutmeg. It’s all good, and don’t be afraid to play around! These are very forgiving and can be fun to dress up with dried fruit or mini chocolate chips. The idea? Have fun!

When I was in high school & visiting my relatives in CA, my aunt & I were feeding my baby cousin his baby food from a jar, & he was havin’ none of it! She took a little taste to show him, “mmm good!” & looked at me & said, “Hey this isn’t bad.” So I took a taste, & the next thing we knew, we’d eaten all of his lunch! 😀
