Italian Wines

The other night I had the honor of participating in an event with Bertolli and Cavit in tasting the wines of Italy.  The group was led by Sommelier and vino Italiano expert Stacie Hunt, certified by the Association of Italian Sommeliers.  She was also joined by two fantastic bloggers:  Jen from Second City Soiree and Evelyn from He Sipped/She Sipped.I learned so much!  I learned about what swirling the wine does for the aroma, how to detect different flavor components, and that even the subtle colors of the wine can indicate the type of environment the grapes were grown in!

But if I’m being honest it was just a great excuse to sit in front of my computer with a great glass of wine and a fabulous meal.  Just like every night should be 🙂

Eventhough I learned about swirling your wine and sniffing it, I still feel like a total tool every time I do it in public. 🙂

Your last statement was one of the truest to my life as ever. Oh, and of course when you just get all hot and bothered and add mix-ins to brownies 😉

Your wine glass on the laptop makes me nervous – I killed a laptop that way! I love Italian wines. Cavit is a great wine, especially for the price. I also found I like Nero D’avols wines.
