HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY SISTER SALAH!!!!!!
I love my sister so much…she has been such a HUGE blessing in my life in so many ways! I remember we didn’t always get along as well as we do now though. We have a home video where she tells the world I wear a bra (I was 11 or 12 and SO embarrassed!), I’ve sent her to the ER for reasons that I won’t discuss on this blog, and we both went (begrudgingly) to eachother’s sporting events.
But then something happened…either I stopped caring as much about having a little sister who wanted to do stuff the same as me all the time, or she got cooler. Actually, thinking back on it now, she just got a lot cooler. We started to have fun together and slowly became closer friends that I could ever have hoped for.
And now we have all kinds of fun together, even if it’s via text message since she’s in Texas and I’m in Colorado. I’ve been trying for a while to get her to move up here…I figure I can get her to come first, then my parents will follow and we’ll all be together again!
But for now, I’m so proud of the woman she has become. She has taught me in so many ways how to love, how to forgive, how to have mercy, how to have peace, and what it means to have a lasting friendship. We’ve laughed to the point of abdominal muscle exhaustion and cried til there were no more tears. She’s the best girlfriend I’ve ever had, and I’m so incredibly thankful to have such an amazing sister!
