Door to Door Organics that is!  Earlier this week I received a box filled with organic produce from this amazing company, and our house is now chock-full of options for dinners, salads, and baked goods.  Pretty amazing, right?

But wait!  It gets even better.  Door to Door Organics brings fresh, local (when they can), organic produce to your front door or office for a fraction of the prices that you would find at places like Whole Foods.  I’m not knocking Whole Foods, but seriously…eating fresh, wholesome food shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg.  The great news is with Door to Door Organics, it doesn’t!

The box I got, the “Bitty Box” had more than enough for Nate and myself and runs about $25.  And it was delivered to our front door! That means that in the middle of the crazy snow and freezing temperatures we didn’t have to get out and go to the store…it practically came to us.

Door to Door Organics has generously offered to give any Heather’s Dish reader in the Colorado, Detroit Metro, Kansas City Metro, and Chicago areas 40% off of a bitty box – just so you can try the amazing food and the amazing service!  Just go to their site and use the code heathersdish when you place your first order for a Bitty Box.  It’s win-win 🙂

Finally, they’ve also generously offered to host a contest for one free box!  Just answer one (or all) of the questions below in the comments, and on Monday morning I will randomly draw the winner.  Contest is only going to be valid to readers in their delivery areas (Colorado, Detroit Metro, Kansas City Metro, and Chicago).

1) What are you doing to incorporate more healthy eating habits into your life?

2) Why is eating organic important to you?

3) How did you first become convinced that eating organic was important and how has it impacted you?

Good luck everyone!  Can’t wait to read your answers!

For me the easiest way to eat healthier has been to buy only whole foods and cut out all preservatives. I also try to avoid going out to eat as much as possible making it easier to make good food choices and save some money.

I started getting more into organics after I read Michael Pollan’s books “In Defense of Food” and “Omnivore’s Dillema”. I feel so much better when I’m eating fresh, organic foods!

Thanks, Heather, for posting about this! I can’t wait to try it!

I am trying to incorporate larger breakfasts into my life, in large part to keep my energy levels up in the morning.

I am trying to buy more & more organic produce, especially. Ideally it would be organic & local.

    Thanks !!!

Minneapolis should be their next market area. It really makes sense.

I became interested in eating organic when I first heard the term in college. What finally sold me on the idea was working at an organic food co-op after college–it just made sense. What’s even more important to me than certified organic foods are local foods from small farmers who are using growing practices that are often even more sustainable than certified organic farms. I love buying straight from the grower!

I decided to start eating organic foods after watching Food Inc. That movie really inspired me that even though you may eat healthy, it’s even more important to make sure your food is pure. I love that movie!

That’s so cool! This Chicago reader thanks you 🙂

This is cliche, but I’m eating more green things in order to eat healthier. The thing is, though, I am SO over salads, so I’ve had to branch out to try greens that can be cooked — and this is a great time of year for those!

Aw man! I’ve been wanting to get some produce delivery, but I don’t live anywhere near there 🙁

On another note, I’ve been stalking your blog for a while now but decided to finally leave a comment, since I’ve started my own blog! (tho it doesn’t have much). And my significant other is named Nate too! 🙂
