Y’all KNOW I’m no fashion blogger (hello, as I write this I’m wearing mismatched sweaty workout clothes), but there’s something about fall that always makes me want to up my game. And by up my game I mean wear actual grownup clothes 😜 I need your help though - most of you know I’m tall, but my issue that I have a super long torso. This week I’ve been working on intentionally unplugging during the day from 3-8 to hyper-focus in being the mom I want to be. It’s a work in progress, but yesterday I sat back and watched as my kids wrestled and threw rocks in the lake and laughed their heads off and was super thankful that I was staring at the miracle of their lives and not at my phone. Another lovely and much-needed lesson from 2020! PRO TIP COMING AT YOU! But first the real real: there are times I get depressed thinking about cooking ANOTHER meal, cleaning MORE dishes, having to make YET another choice about what to eat. Being a grown-up is hard sometimes, you know? Who are we kidding…of course you know.

One thing I love to do is let you guys know when there’s something out there that will FOR SURE change your life, and the Cook Once Eat All Week book from @fedandfit is 100% one of those things. I’ve cooked my way through the whole thing, and while I have my favorite recipes I can honestly say that every single one is good and so simple to make. Takes the work out of cooking, which is all I really need at this point, and does it deliciously (and helps me save money in the process…a bonus)!

In case you’re skeptical like me about things that feel too good to be true, check out this book from your library to make sure it’s for you. That’s what I did (although I bought it on Amazon after trying the first recipe, so there’s that)!

I love Monday’s y’all! The feeling of startin

I love Monday’s y’all!

The feeling of starting fresh, new opportunities, a chance to do better - it’s all so motivating. Like little mini-New Years, only we get 52 of them!

This week I’m working on 4 things;
1. Practicing consistent discipline with with my daily income-producing activities
2. Scheduling time to dream big - the goals and dreams that scare me won’t happen on their own!
3. Putting my phone in another room from the hours of 3-8 so I can be focused on patient parenting.
4. Meditating and stretching every night. My anxiety is creeping up more every day, and these are two of my surefire ways to reduce it.
5. Eating clean all week. This means hitting my macro and water intake goals and cutting out sugar with my FASTer Way VIP ladies!
Friend - Monday is a blessing, just like every time we get to wake up and live another day. Make it count!

Anatomy of a balanced macro bowl!

One of my goals in my @fasterwaytofatloss journey has been to approach balanced macros from a more intuitive place. Undoing decades of over- and under-eating and placing my emotional health under the influence of food has been difficult, but this program has shifted my perspective in the best way, and I’m finally getting to place where I utilize food as fuel and not an emotional bandaid.

Building a balanced macro bowl of course depends on what everyone’s individual macro needs are, but for me I love to have a protein source of some kind (prepped ahead of time), a gluten-free carb source (potatoes, rice and quinoa are great!), and at least half the bowl with veggies and a healthy fat (usually in the form of a dressing or sauce). It also makes meal prep so much easier, which is a HUGE win with the craziness of our days - and usually all I have to do is change up the sauce for variety!!

This won’t resonate with everyone, but for those if you who want a healthier, more intuitive relationship with food I would encourage you to DM me about joining my next round of FASTer Way. It has been an incredible blessing in so many ways, and it’s an honor for me to coach others to find those same freedoms and results!

I noticed something the other day - this is the st

I noticed something the other day - this is the strongest I’ve ever been. Right now, at a fresh 37 years old, with 2 children, 3 businesses, endless responsibilities, in the middle of a global pandemic. It’s the heaviest I’ve ever lifted, fastest I’ve ever run, and the most gumption and internal strength I’ve ever had to muster.

I’m grateful for God’s provision, proud of myself for doing the work (and bouncing back when I don’t), thankful for the nutrition and fitness program that’s helped me get here, and excited for all the continuing work there is to go. Trust me, it’s a lot. But I’m prepared for the journey and stubborn enough to get there!

Sis, it goes without saying (<—although obviously I’m saying it) that this year has been a bear. But you know what? You’re stronger. You can do this. And we’ll do it together!
