Y’all remember this game?

(source)

That and Chutes ‘N’ Ladders used to be my favorite games EVER!!!  That was where I first developed my competitive spirit was with board games, but sometimes I like to think it’s just hereditary too 🙂

So yeah…today for lunch I had a helping of some of the Bob’s Red Mill Veggi Soup that I made a while back and froze.  But I forgot to take a picture.  AGAIN.  Argh! I did happen to get a photo of my mid-afternoon treat (and inspiration for this post) though!

I found these mini-treats on a co-worker’s desk (they were up for grabs) and I couldn’t help but get one of each!  They were so good, especially the Starburst.  I find I adore chocolate, but really only the good stuff, but if you give me some fruit-flavored candy I’ll go straight fat kid on that junk!

Tonight we have our community group, which I’m stoked about, and then lots of sleeping for me – I’m still catching up from the weekend and gearing up for a short but busy week at work!  I also have big plans of waking up early for a new yoga DVD that I bought in a roller coaster of emotions about my knee hurting.  I’m also going to be doing the HardCore Challenge from Kristina at Good ‘n’ Weird…and I’m looking forward to a sore tummy!

What was your favorite board game growing up? Like I said, I loved Candyland, and Chutes ‘N’ Ladders, but we also played a lot of Sorry! and LIFE.  Those games make me smile because they remind me of my family!

I loved Candy Land. My neice is 3 and I tried to play it with her over Christmas but she is still a little to young to appreciate it.

Oh…my favorite game to play as a kid…the lighted “Simon Says” game with the four colors you had to rember the order in which they would light up…and of course…Monopoly!

I have to take aging with a grain o’ salt…my knee started hurting too and I really didn’t do anything to make it hurt. So, I started doing bodyflow and yoga at my gym. My knee felt much better. Come to find out my IT (iliotibial) band was tight and putting strain on the outside of my knee. When I got it stretched out, it stopped hurting.

What I discovered from yoga/pilates is that as we age, our bodies can still get strength from itself. I lift no weights, but do all of the moves/resistance via my own body weight and I have not felt better. It is great for your core, shoulder strengthening and abs. Good luck with it!

The other thing I found out was that my back was out of alignment. I went to a good chiropractor, not a quack as most are, and he said my lumbar 5 was a little off, causing my right hip flexor to be stretched, which caused my gait to be off on the right side and hence my knee pain. After he got done with me, my knee also stopped hurting.

Dude, you took one of my faves. Candyland was too sweet. From Trouble to Don’t Break the Ice -> remember that gem?

I would totally say Mall Madness, but I’ll keep to games without battteries, lol.

I too need some good rest from the weekend, short week though!
