Beware the Exploding Apples

I had big dreams for this dish….BIG DREAMS!  I even carefully measured out every ingredient, painstakingly and thoughtfully deciding which spices and fillers I wanted in there.  I cored the apples perfectly, making them smooth and round and perfect for stuffing.  I hand-picked the appropriate sized baking dish, one that would fit all the apples but not be stuffed to the brim, allowing the heat to even wrap them in a blanket of warmth in which to bake them to perfection.

I checked and double-checked and decided to bake them just a few minutes longer because they weren’t perfect just yet.

And then this happened.

Oops.

Alas, this recipe (delicious as it was) will have to wait til I can find the time to perform another miraculous apple-coring surgery on at least 5-6 Granny Smith apples.

At least I wrote the filling down!

Hey…taste is all that matters! At least that’s what I tell myself to feel better since nothing I make comes out very pretty. Except maybe my fudge. My fudge is pretty. 😀
