Adventures in Health Products

A few weeks ago the fabulous Jenna at Swanson Health Products offered a chance to try some of the amazing foods and products from their site, and I was happy to oblige!

I had already JUST purchased some more vitamins, so I didn’t end up getting anything like that from them, but I DID get:

  • 1 jar sunflower seed butter
  • 1 jar extra virgin coconut oil
  • 1 container of nutritional yeast flakes
  • 1 bag of raw whole cashews

You see, I’ve wanted to try sunflower seed butter for some time now and always forget about it at the store.  No longer my friends!  The coconut oil I use to cook with occasionally, but more than anything I use it in my hair after showering every day to protect from the dryness in Colorado.  It only takes about 1/3 of a teaspoon and just rub it into the ends of your hair and style as normal!  The yeast and the cashews I have to say are kind of freaking me out, but I really wanted to try the vegan cheeze sauce that I read about so much.  I don’t know how long it will take for me to get up the courage to actually open said nutritional yeast, but I promise when I do y’all will be the first to know!

I really loved working with Swanson Health Products.  Their selection on the site is fabulous, the shipping is great, the service is friendly, and the prices are right in line with our budgetary needs.  What more could you ask for?!

Thanks so much Jenna, I really appreciate the opportunity to work with you guys and will continue to do so in the future!

Have never heard of yeast flakes, so I’m curious as to how they will be used, and I didn’t even know sunflower butter existed! I think I have to get out more.
Are you putting the coconut oil on your hair while you are still in the shower after conditioning or when you’re out and it’s still damp? I have that in my pantry.
    Thanks, Heather!

Foolproof way to love cashews: cookie dough balls!

Also, Angela’s tahini-lemon dressing is a great way to warm up to nutritional yeast:

Or, you know, you could mail the yeast and cashews to me so I can enjoy them 😉

I’m both scared and intrigued by nutritional yeast, so I’ll let you go first. 🙂
