Heather's Dish

The Dish

33 Weeks

Let’s start off with an apology:  I’m sorry for the blurry, horrible iPhone photo.  With my pregnancy brain and the lack of (taking) time to do nicer photos it’s just not happening, so iPhone it is!

I have to say, pregnancy lately has been fun, but I’m starting to get to the point where sleep is happening less and less, exhaustion is starting to set in, and bending over?  You know, to tie my shoes or whatever?  Yeah, that’s not happening.  And there’s great big sighs and grunts that happen when I try…I swear it’s involuntary though!

Despite all that, I’m having a blast.  The little guy keeps changing his position all the time and now that I can feel him kicking more and more I just feel so much more connected.  Believe it or not I like it when he’s sucker-punching my bladder all day long and moving around when I’m feeling particularly lonely and homesick.  Bladder punches = LOVE people!

Gestational diabetes is still going as well as it can, but it’s definitely one of those things that requires a lot of attention and planning.  The amount of protein and veggies I’m eating is absurd, but I also feel fantastic.  I miss bread, but when I have a slice with some real butter it tastes like chewy, yeasty heaven and I enjoy it so much more.  And the best news is that I’m measuring right on track to have a healthy and normal 7.5-8 lb baby boy in about 7 weeks!

The baby room and baby name still are needing some work (as in we have nothing ready yet for either one), but I’m hoping to post photos in the next few weeks of the changes going on in our house.  Just a tip if you’re thinking about having a baby though?  If you have to move anything from one room to another (i.e. we are making our office into the baby room and moving the office downstairs), do it now.  Because yeah…waiting til you’re 33 weeks doesn’t really make it easier.

Oops 🙂

You look great – and i am so happy you are feeling better – i am telling you a diabetic diet is awesome!!! I try to eat just like my husband does just to keep up with him!
With 4 weeks to go we just finished the nursery this past week with the last things we needed – i even got diapers – WOW that was overwhelming!! And i wanted to get formula as a backup – just in case you never know – i started doing research on it – very depressing there aren’t good alternatives out there i wonder why there is so much sugar in formula – lots of complaints about it from parents. At the end of the day there are only two organic option if you are wondering – https://www.naturesone.com/ or https://www.earthsbest.com but read this and this article too in case you want formula as a backup – https://www.ewg.org/reports/infantformula and https://www.naturalnews.com/033926_infant_formula_corn_syrup.html

You are so beautiful, Heather! Feeling your baby inside you is the greatest feeling in the world, isn’t it? Oh…and the not sleeping much thing? I think that is nature’s way of preparing you for the lack of sleep you are going to get when the baby is born! Seriously, by then you will functioning just fine on just half the sleep you normally get! 🙂
